We met at UC Berkeley on the very first day of classes, though we didn’t actually start talking until the next one.

Moka was sitting with Jameson, completely oblivious, while Hugo picked up his stuff, abandoned his old table and joined theirs instead.

His reasoning was simple:
“They looked more fun.”
He was right.

From there, we talked more, laughed more and eventually started spending an unreasonable amount of time together. Moka worked up the almost-courage to invite Hugo to a party which he showed up to and the rest just kind of happened.

Since then, we’ve done a lot together. We built a tiny house. We moved across the world. We travelled to new places.

Five years later, we’re best friends, partners and still the people who choose each other every day.

And now we get to celebrate that with all the people who matter most.
